Mayfield Education & Research Foundation hires new director

CINCINNATI– The Mayfield Education & Research Foundation is proud to announce the hiring of Deborah Livingston as Development Director. Ms. Livingston will oversee the continued expansion of the Mayfield Foundation's commitment to neuroscience research, injury prevention, neurological health, and the education and training of neurosurgeons.

Ms. Livingston comes to Mayfield from the Purdue School of Science at IUPUI in Indianapolis, where she served as Executive Director of Development. She previously served as Senior Director of Development for the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati Foundation and as a development officer for NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center.

"Deb's vast experience in fundraising and development will be important as we continue the growth and expansion of the Mayfield Foundation and its programs," says William Tobler, MD, a neurosurgeon with Mayfield Brain & Spine and Chair of the Mayfield Foundation. "She is a great addition to our team."

Ms. Livingston earned her undergraduate degree from Providence College, in Providence, Rhode Island, and a master's degree in philanthropic studies from Indiana University, Indianapolis.

The Mayfield Foundation, with $4 million in invested funds, has distributed in excess of $600,000 in research awards to local neuroscientists during the last three years. The foundation has also invested more than $500,000 to establish the Mayfield Surgical Innovation Center, which provides advanced training in new technologies to neurosurgeons from around the United States. And it provides operating support to the Crosstown Concussion Crew, a collaboration involving TriHealth, students from the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University, and medical residents from Bethesda Family Practice. The crew educates local youth about concussion and neurotrauma prevention.
