In a Mother's Memory, a Cross-Country Journey for Brain Tumor Research

Jenny w/ Peter

Peter Carr’s love of cycling began when he was a teenager. When he was 13 years old, he dreamed about one day biking across the United States. Over the years he gave voice to the idea, and it gradually began to take form.

expanding the frontiers of neuroscience

Since 1978 the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation has supported groundbreaking advancements in neurosurgery and related neuroscience fields. Neuroscientists have made great advancements in recent decades, but there is still much we do not know about healing and the molecular origins of disease. Uncharted territories remain, offering new opportunities to save lives or improve the quality of life for those suffering from conditions spawned by injury, age, uncontrolled risk factors, or an unsolved genetic mystery. The Mayfield Education & Research Foundation funds research that seeks answers to human suffering while translating that knowledge into effective treatments, preventive therapies, and cures.

to accelerate healing and inspire hope

The Mayfield Legacy

Since 1937, Mayfield Clinic has brought the best neurosurgical research, education and patient care possible to Greater Cincinnati and the rest of the world. Patients with diseases and disorders of the brain and spine are often stricken forcefully and without warning, or are suffering for long periods of time with mysterious symptoms. Neuroscientists have made great advancements in the last century, but there is still much we do not know. The Mayfield Education & Research Foundation funds the leading-edge research that is in search of answers, alongside efforts to translate that knowledge into effective treatments, useful information, and hope.

In May, Mayfield associates and friends came out to support the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation at the Flying Pig Marathon!
